Pay kindness forward with flowers

GRATITUDE

If the last few years have taught me anything, it is that I live a very fortunate life. I have a job that I love, I am healthy and I have all that I need to live from day to day. I also have the most beautiful family who I love and adore with all my heart. I want for nothing more in life than that. But as I have gotten older, the rose colored filters have worn off and I am acutely aware that there is pain, sadness, sickness, struggle and forms of injustice happening all around me everyday... and this makes me sad.

PAY IT FORWARD

So it has been on my heart for some time now, to share what I have and pay it forward when I can, to make the world a kinder place.

There are so many beautiful people living in our local community that for whatever reason- deserve to be the recipient of a random act of kindness. We all know people like this. They may be the kind of person that is always the first to step up and do something kind/caring/thoughtful or selfless for others. Or they may be the person who is having a really tough time of things lately. They may be possibly someone suffering some kind of trauma or grief in their life and need a little bit of kindness showered upon them. There is no "tick box" to qualify. We accept all nominations of people. We have trust in your judgement to nominate someone who you believe would have their spirits lifted with a gift of flowers and a card with words that will speak right to their heart.

THE KNITTY GRITTY

So you know someone... how do you enter them in the running?

Simply comment on this weeks post on one of our social media pages with a brief description of the person who you nominate, and/or why it is that they deserve some loving. You do not have to tag them/share the post/like my page. This is not about getting followers or exposure of our brand. This is simply about showing kindness with flowers, that's it.

A few nuts and bolts to consider first...

1. Whilst I would love to spread kindness and deliver all over the place, with 2 young children and a newborn at home and running a small biz... I need to be realistic. Please ensure your nominee is located in Victor Harbor, just to make delivery for me that little bit easier.

2. One recipient per week will be selected at random.

3. If your name is chosen you will be contacted in order to provide your recipients full name and their delivery address. You will also be asked to provide a thoughtful note to that person that can be written up by me, and included with the delivery. I want the flowers to be part of the gesture, but I believe that the kind and thoughtful words by a loved one will ultimately be what touches their heart and leaves that lasting imprint. So please put thought into what you want the recipient to read, and how you want to make them to feel.

4. Each week I would like to share on my social media pages a brief spill about the recipient of our flower bunch for that week (without naming names). In the spirit of being intentional on making the world that little bit brighter... I believe that sharing acts of kindness and peoples stories help uplift others, and also encourage people by sharing how small acts done with great love, really can make the world a better place. And just maybe, this might encourage others to do the same.

I leave you with one of my favorite quotes to be inspired by

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has"
